As you may or may have not have noticed, we’ve been doing quite a bit of work to quadmagazine.com lately. And seeing as this is my first blog post on the new site, I figured it would be as good a place as any to give you a little bit of background about myself.
I’ve been in the ATV business since 1991. I got my start as an Associate Editor at the magazine 3&4 Wheel Action (today known as ATV Action). Since that time I’ve worked for or contributed to virtually most of the ATV mags on the market in some shape or form…
When we launched Quad Magazine in 2005, it was like a dream come true. I wasn’t bound to working on a magazine with any history behind it…. The gloves were totally off. I was given the opportunity to break ground on a brand new magazine. Fresh. From scratch. I was encouraged to spend money on getting the best photos – the best stories – the best talent. And I think we are making the best mag in the business – by far! So far we’ve produced 26 issues (although it seems like we just started and should be on our third or fourth issue).
It’s a ton of work, but we have a total blast making the magazine. As I continue this blog on quadmagazine.com, I hope to bring you a bit more of a personalized “behind the scenes look” at what goes on with the magazine. More than likely when I blog at 1:00 a.m. on a Sunday night like I am tonight, I may also bust out some crazy stories…like when I split a helmet in two crashing off the side of a mountain in Colorado…or something weird like that. So check back often folks!

Doog is the man. Don’t be shy if you ever get the chance to meet him either. He’s just a real good quad dude. He’s also responsible for building the best Quad mag with the best staff which is another testament to his judgment and character.
